Data protection
What the contact form collects: name, e-mail address, request type, subject, message, form language and the IP address at the time of sending. This data is sent by e-mail to contact@martinbtc.ch and kept in that mailbox.
What the "Suggest a destination" form collects: (tool "How many months of freedom?") the country suggested and, if you enter them, a city, a comment and an e-mail address to be notified when it is added, plus the page language. None of the simulator entries (capital, income, budget) are sent. The message does not contain your IP address: in hashed form, it is only used for one hour to limit repeated submissions.
Why: solely to process and answer your request. Nothing is sold, shared or used for advertising. The IP address is only used to limit abuse.
How long: exchanges with no follow-up are deleted after twelve months. Exchanges that lead to a collaboration are kept for the duration of the project, then in line with Swiss accounting obligations.
Your rights: access, correction, deletion and objection, by writing to contact@martinbtc.ch. Processing is subject to the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP), and to the GDPR for people residing in the European Union.
Hosting and server logs: the site is hosted by Infomaniak, in Switzerland. Like any web server, it keeps access logs (IP address, date, requested page, browser) for technical and security purposes. These logs are handled by the host.
Cookies & analytics
This site sets no cookies at all, neither advertising, nor analytics, nor tracking. Fonts are hosted on the site's own server: no request is sent to Google Fonts.
Cookie-free analytics: this site uses Umami (Umami Cloud, by Umami Software, Inc.), a statistics tool designed not to identify visitors. On each page view, your browser loads a small script from cloud.umami.is and sends to gateway.umami.is the page address, the referring page, the language, the screen size, the browser and operating system type, and your IP address, which is used to work out the country and a daily-rotating anonymous identifier and is not stored. No cookie or identifier is set, visits are not linked from one day to the next, and nothing is shared with third parties. These figures only tell which pages and tools are read, to improve the site. A content blocker is enough to prevent this, without breaking anything.
Local storage, on request only: the "How many months of freedom?", "How much of your life does it cost?", "Where does your money go?" and "Your freedom plan" tools can keep your entries in your browser if you click "Save on this device" or turn on "Remember on this device". They never leave your device and are deleted with the button provided or by turning the option off. It is not a cookie: nothing is written without that choice, and saved entries are read back when you return to the page. The only exception is while you go through "Your freedom plan": your answers are kept in the tab's session memory (sessionStorage), so you can move between steps without losing anything. That memory stays on your device, is cleared when you close the tab or click "Delete my data", and is never sent.
YouTube thumbnails: pages that display video thumbnails (the homepage, Bitcoin Trip, YouTube, Café Talk Crypto and some notes in the Carnet) load these images from YouTube's servers (i.ytimg.com). Visiting one of these pages therefore sends your IP address to Google. Apart from the analytics described above, no other page on this site contacts a third-party server.
Video player, on click only: on the homepage, on the Café Talk Crypto page and on some notes in the Carnet, the YouTube player is only loaded when you start playback. It is then served by youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's "cookieless" domain. From that click, YouTube (Google) may receive your visit and record data under its own privacy policy.

Applicable law
This website is governed by Swiss law. Any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the competent courts of the Canton of Geneva.
